December 2022 issue of "Your Hometown Magazine" features my photo of the Christmas store window of "Bear and Birds Boutique and Gallery" in downtown Schenectady. Makes it the 6th straight image chosen for front cover status! My new column "Snap Shot of Excellence" this month features Cyndi Owen for all the community volunteering she has done including work organizng a n amazing clean up at Burnt Hills Hillside Cemetary, and collecting big donations for "Wreaths Across America."
Thank you to the Town of Ballston Community Library / Burnt Hills for saying YES! to exhibiting my "Some Gave All" photography show, dedicated to all veterans and all in the nursing field. We had a tremedous showing of support for Grant Cottage / Ben Kemps presentation about veterans lives after the Civil War, and Dr. Nancy Michela, (Director of the 4 year degree nursing program at Russell Sage College,) for her presentation on "Nursing In Wartime." Had a great Q and A both nights. Many veterans and nurses came including Maltas Wallingfords, and Sir Ken Baily (WWII.) Thank you all for coming! And thanking all veterans and nurses for your service and constant vigilance for the nations well-being.

“A Veteran Speaks: Oscar Kemp of the 115th NY and the Grand Army”
*Sponsored by Terry Morris Ford*
The Civil War is one of the most studied conflicts in American history, but much of the emphasis is on battles, leaders and soldiers during the four years of war. What happened to the survivors? What were their stories and how did they transition back into civilian life? Many of the veterans joined fraternal organizations for support, the largest being the Grand Army of the Republic. Join Civil War veteran Oscar Kemp (portrayed by descendant and Grant Cottage staff member Ben Kemp) as he recounts his war experiences with the 115th NY and then discusses the experience of veterans after the war, and the Grand Army of the Republic.
Come Friday, 2/27/15, for the artist "Meet and Greet," at Saratoga City Center.
