2024 is Here!

February is here. I cannot get over how fast time is flying by!

February is also much closer to spring than fall!

February also seems to always be the busiest art month of the year for me. I am participating in the  @creativefebruary art challenge ( Do it every day this month and post! ) that's being managed by Saratoga based  artist  Takeyce Walter. This year for the challenge I am  creating  "My Little Book of Haiku." Everyday  I will be  posting a Haikua - a  classic style of Japanese poetry aimed at capturing a moment of keen perception in a short form.  Since posting my first one, people are  sending me their Haiku. Let me tell you that I  have unleashed an Army of Haiku poets!!! Stay tuned on that...

So, last year was my very first year participating in the creativefebruary  challenge. I posted a photo of mine each day. One happened to be of the  Rolling Bones "38 Special."  It caught the eye of another participating artist, Roya Jenner. She then  reached out to me to request permission to reproduce my image on her iPad using Procreate software. So my first  year ended with an art collaboration with Roya in the createfebruary art challenge. Roya was kind enough to send me two framed  "'38 Specials," of which one will go to Rolling Bones on Feb 9/10, and one will go into my auto art collection.

I submitted one of my Tombstone guys, "Ringo," to  Schenectady's Bear and Bird Boutique Gallery for their upcoming "All In" Art Show February 10 - March 24, 2024.  It may be a small gallery, but the artists work there is cutting edge. Very inspiring.

Eric Ayotte has also put out an art challenge  in February called "Fun-a- Day." I'm in. I was part of Erics film class a while back and enjoyed the experience at the Schoharie River Center in Burtonsville. I discovered my favorite view of Schoharie Creek there, especially if it is running high. It's a mean body of water.

The Saratoga Holiday Inn is hosting my  "NO SPEED LIMIT" HOT CARS ART SHOW February 8-11, 2024.  Thank you GM  Kevin! I will show my photography along with art of Roya Jenner, Stu Eichel and Robert Selkowitz. And the salty Rolling Bones posse is in town that weekend. You'll find them on the art wall, at Bookmakers, or at the cow barn.

Wiawaka wants me back for Georgia O'keeffe Weekend in July. Until last year, I had  never been to any events at Wiawaka. It's a historic and gorgeous piece of lake front w/ boathouse directly on Lake George. Georgia OKeeffe was a guest as a young adult; cause for celebrating her life all week at Wiawaka. I happen to have visited Georgia's  beloved and now historic home in New Mexico -  "Ghost Ranch,"  and have since  developed a photography show out of  that visit.   So I'll be showing it at Wiawaka again this summer. July date TBA.
