TAOS, NEW MEXICO
Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 06:25PM
I have been researching interesting places to shoot while staying in Taos, NM, this September. I will be studying with nationally known, and published, equine photographer, Carol Walker. Days will be spent filming 12 breeds of horses, including wild Mustang and the Taos Pueblo Native American herd. I will then drive into Taos, and let loose with the camera, (and maybe a shot of top shelf Tequila,) in that very colorful, historic town. Look out art shows, galleries, pawn shops, native rodeos, flea markets, and Georgia O'Keeffe country! to name a few destinations!
It's been quite a trip out West! Stay tuned... Still in New Mexico!

Still out West, in New Mexico.. Taos was an outstanding experience. I would have to write a book. The people were the most gracious. I tip my hat to all the photography workshop group, the outstanding guiding services of Mr Kenny Blair Jr., the Chicago firefighter Harley group, Rich and the gang, that rode into town, after Destiny stepped in, and they were asked to get off their bikes, and try to help stop a woman from jumping off the 580 foot Rio Grande Bridge, by the womans friend, right outside of Taos. She was determined, and they witnessed her decision to jump. They also witnessed in NYC, at 9/11, the jumpers, so this was an event that brought some of that experience back. I was honored to run into them at the hotel patio that evening, and just hear them decompress, through good company. I tip my hat to Rich and the Firefighting gang of Chicago! Thank-you for all you do. Hey to the car club guys Ebil, Paulie , and Bob. Ebil was a Korean War Vet. Thank-you for your service, I know it still hurts. You are a man of distinction, brave, strong and an outstanding father, husband and protector of our country. Thank-you. I am down in Ruidoso Country, just outside of Billy the Kid Country. Went through Capitan last night, where Smokey the Bear was found badly burned, many years ago. He survived, and is buried at the State Park named in his honor. The wild fires came very close to Taos and Ruidoso, so much so that people were evacuated. Just amazing to see the black hills. When it rains now, the arroyos become raging rivers, and erosion is intense. Much of the wildlife has no feed, and are moving closer to towns. Saw a HUGE male elk with antler rack that went to the sky yesterday, standing next to a guard rail! Tried to turn around and take a pic, but he didnt like that! Stay tuned...
